Meet the Team:

Paige Weston-Keenan- Teacher & Head of Department

I began my journey at Keyham Lodge supporting as a pastoral teaching assistant for ‘The Girls Unit’, there was never a dull moment! After a few months, supporting the girls my path changed and I progressed into supporting the arts department as a curriculum specialist support member of staff. Here is where my true journey began back in 2013, as I quickly began my teacher training and successfully achieved my QTLS in 2015, as my roles developed my skills were based predominately in English and Art.

For the past six years I have lead The Arts department and more recently became the Head of Department for Keyham’s vocational courses, The Work Based Learning Department.

Bilal Mahomed-  Art & Design Teacher

I am an Art teacher at Keyham Lodge School. I have practiced Art throughout my education, under well renowned Creatives and scholars. I completed a foundation degree in Art and Design in 2014, during this course I had the opportunity to explore and experiment with graphic design, 3d modelling (digital and physical) and Fine art. I then went on to completing an Architecture degree in 2017 at De Monfort University. During the final year of my degree I was approached by my GCSE teacher and was asked to support a year 11Art class at my old school, Moat Community College. Helping these students reach their potential gave me joy, a sense of appreciation and self-fulfilment .It was at this point I wanted to pursue a career into teaching. After my degree, I worked as a teaching assistant at Judgemeadow Community College, where I was able to support in the Arts and work as an one to one mentor . I then successfully completed my teacher training in 2019 where I worked in two excellent OFSTED rated schools, Rusheymead and Soar Valley Community College. A one week placement during my teacher training at Keyham Lodge opened my eyes to a school environment and a teaching/learning style I had never witnessed before, this sparked my interest in working in a SEMH school. I am also a qualified youth worker and run a boxing club part time. I use the art of boxing as a catalyst to develop confidence and mental strength in our young people. I am able to combine and teach all my interests together here at Keyham Lodge, my aim is to instil relevant skill, knowledge and positive characteristics in our future generations.
