The Arts programme of study and schemes of work in KS2 are predominately designed and created to equip our students with the necessary knowledge and skills required to progress further into a specific area of skill e.g. textiles, cooking, fine art, ceramics, wood work etc.; to achieve success. We follow the AQA Exam standardisation and mark scheme threading through the assessment objects within our KS2 and KS3 curriculum plans. The AQA assessment objectives have been firmly embedded into every year group, so students are aware of the requirements and understand next steps to development. Long terms plans have recently been amended in order for our students to cover all skills necessary to be able to access GCSE Art & Design or GCSE Food Technology. Therefore our KS2 students rotate between Art & Design and Design Technology in order to gain a variety of key skills sets and expectations within the classrooms and subject areas.
