With the new instalment of a music studio and the new music equipment including drum kits, guitars, keyboards and DJ equipment, students will have the opportunity to gain a BTEC level 2 qualification in music.

The Music Industry
This unit looks at the music industry as a whole and ways in which to achieve a career in music. Students will have the opportunity to visit music venues and talk to industry professionals about their journey in music. Students will also look in music production and look at famous producers including Jay Z, Pharrell and Kanye West and thee impact on the industry.
Managing a Music Product
This unit looks at the development and delivery of a music product. This will include planning a live music performance/new CD or online download. This will then move on to promoting the product through advertising, including radio adverts, posters, press releases. Finally the students will then evaluate their product by looking at real products in the market today.
There will also be two optional units which the students will have the opportunity to choose, from:

- Introducing music composition-developing music for performance
- Introducing music performance-leaning a musical instrument (guitar, drums, Dj'ing, singing etc.) through practical rehearsal
