Music
At Keyham Lodge School, our music curriculum is designed to inspire creativity, build confidence, and nurture a lifelong appreciation for music. Through a dynamic and inclusive one to one program, students explore a broad range of musical experiences—singing, playing instruments, composing, and listening—all while developing key skills in rhythm, melody, harmony, and musical expression.
Our intent is to provide a rich, inclusive, and engaging music education that nurtures every student’s creativity, self-expression, and love of music. We aim to:
- Develop musical skills and understanding through singing, playing, composing, and listening.
- Foster creativity and confidence by encouraging students to explore, perform, and express themselves musically.
- Promote cultural awareness and appreciation by exposing students to diverse musical traditions and genres.
- Support personal growth and wellbeing by using music as a tool for emotional expression, collaboration, and enjoyment.
- Build transferable skills such as focus, resilience, teamwork, and communication that support learning across the curriculum.
Our music curriculum is designed to inspire all learners—regardless of ability or background—and to instil a lifelong appreciation for the art and power of music.
